Public Sector Equality Duty Information
30 April 2015. This was the date by which listed public authorities were required to publish:
- A mainstreaming report;
- Annual employee information together with details of the progress made in gathering and using the information to better meet the duty;
- A report on progress made towards achieving equality outcomes published in 2013; and
- Public authorities with 150 staff or more must also publish updated gender pay gap information.
Public bodies must publish information in a manner that is accessible to the public
NOTE: Orkney College is part of Orkney Islands Council and therefore not an incorporated College. This means that most specific duties come under OIC procedures and responsibilities. However, the duties that OC will work towards to augment OIC duties are ‘develop and publish a set of equality outcomes that cover all protected characteristics (or explain why the characteristics are not covered)’ and ‘assess the impact of policies and practices against the needs of the general duties’ (some policies are OC policies only).
Currently all data related to the protected characteristics of staff is held by Orkney Islands Council.
